Trains from Verona: timetables, stations, tickets

Station Verona

Verona is served immediately by 3 railway stations, but in order not to get confused among them, we recommend that you focus on the main one - Verona Porta Nuova.

This station is one of the ten largest in Italy, and therefore it’s not only the easiest way to find tickets here, but there is also a way to pass the time if the required train does not leave immediately.

At the station there is a reference, cafe, ticket machines, toilets and even car rental points. If you come to Verona for 1 day and do not want to carry your suitcases, you can leave them in a storage room at the station: the first 5 hours will cost 6 Euros, each subsequent 0.9.

In the square in front of the station, the routes of many city buses converge at once. The easiest way to get to the center is at No. 72 or 73. The fare will cost 1 Euro, and tickets can be purchased at the tobacco kiosk at the station.

Finally, it is quite possible to walk to the center of Verona from the train station - the walk will take about 20 minutes.

Train timetable from Verona

Verona Main Station serves about 300 trains daily, including the trains of the two main Italian railway carriers - Trenitalia and Italo.

The current train schedule from Verona can be monitored either through the operators' websites or through Omio.ru former GoEuro.

With Omio it’s easier because it supports the Russian language, and for a purchase you only need a bank card and a few minutes of time.

Trains from Verona to Milan

Verona and Milan are separated by 140 km in a straight line, so getting from Verona to Milan by train is not difficult: about 50 trains pass between the cities in a day.

The fastest (and most expensive) option is Frecciarossa high-speed trains. A trip to them takes a little more than an hour, and trains leave every half hour from 7 a.m. to 22 p.m. Ticket prices range from 30 to 35 euros.

The cheapest (and longest) option is Regionale regional trains. They will take you from Verona to Milan in about 2 hours. The interval of movement is about 1 hour. Trains run towards Milan from 6am to 10pm. One way tickets will cost 13-15 euros.

An intermediate option for price and speed is Italo Treno high-speed trains. The trip takes 1 hour 15 minutes, and tickets will cost from 15 to 20 euros.

True, Italo Treno go much less often, every 2-3 hours, starting from 7 a.m. to 21 p.m., but the carrier often arranges promotions during which tickets can be purchased for only 10 Euros.

Trains from Verona to Venice

The distance from Verona to Venice is about 100 km in a straight line. In total, over 60 trains run between cities in a day.

The fastest and most expensive Frecciarossa high-speed trains cover the distance between Verona and Venice in 1 hour 10 minutes. The interval of movement is half an hour. The first train leaves at 7:30 in the morning, the last at about 22 in the evening. Tickets will cost about 20 euros.

From about 05:30 to 22:30, you can also get between the cities on one of the regional trains: it will be cheaper, but a little longer - about 1.5 hours. Ticket prices range from 10 to 27 euros. Interval of movement - 20-40 minutes.

More than 60 trains run daily between cities

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Italo Treno trains also run in the direction of Venice, which cover the distance in 1 hour 10 minutes. Tickets outside promotions and sales will cost around 16 Euros.

All trains leave from Verona Porta Nuova Station and arrive at Venice Santa Lucia Station (in exceptional cases, Venice Mestre).

Trains from Verona to Florence

The direct line between Verona and Florence is 186 km. On the route daily runs about 10-12 direct fast trains that depart from 6:50 a.m. to 18:50 p.m. The road takes about an hour and a half.

Flights are operated by both Trenitalia and Italo Treno trains, and tickets cost 20-25 Euros one way.

In Verona, all trains leave from Porta Nuova Station, and in Florence they can arrive both at Santa Maria Novella and Campo di Marte.

Trains from Verona to Lake Garda

From Verona you can easily reach the largest Italian lake Garda, which can be easily and cheaply reached even by ordinary city trains.
