The Italian will perform at the competition "Mr. Gay Universe"

The 26-year-old Alessio Cuvello will be the first Italian to take part in the Mr. Gay Universe contest to be held in Paris from May 11-17. The young man already has a child from marriage with his ex-wife. Among the awards Alessio title "Mr. Gay Italy 2012".

In 2012, the 26-year-old Alessio Cuvello (born in Palermo, but permanently resident in Milan) received the title "Mr. Gay Italy". This event caused a lot of controversy, since the winner of the competition at that time already had a child.

But, despite controversy and prejudice, now Cuvello will be the first Italian to take part in the competition "Mr. Gay Universe 2014". This year the event will be held in Paris from May 11 to 17. It is symbolic that the winner will be elected May 17 on International Day Against Homophobia. It is curious that in July 2013 Alessio was supposed to participate in the Mr. Gay Europe competition in Prague, and then fly to Antwerp on the Mr. Gay World.

But for personal reasons, both invitations were turned down. This year, Alessio Cuvello personally phoned the president of Mr. Gay Universe and invited him to take part in the competition. The decisive factor in the decision of the Italian was the assurance that he would be able to promote the rights of homosexuals in the world.

Alessio is young, but he has a difficult life behind him. He grew up in Novara and lived for up to fourteen years with his grandparents, who drove the grandson out of the house, learning about his sexual preferences. Then there was a move to Milan and work as a personal trainer in a fitness center.

Alessio never told anyone else that he was gay. Even his future wife, whom he met in the gym. In marriage, he had a baby, the son of Mattia, who is now five years old. But this did not help save the family, and soon Alessio Cuvello divorced. After winning the “Mr. Gay Italy 2012”, he has already opened his gym in Novara.

"I'm really very glad to be invited to attend this event," says Alessio. “In 2013, I was already invited to speak at the competition“ Mr. Gay Europe ”in Prague and“ Mr. Gay Peace ”in Antwerp. Then I was forced to refuse invitations for personal reasons. But in November the president of Mr. Gay Universe called me and offered to take part in the competition in 2014. This time I agreed. "
