How to rent an apartment in Trastevere, the most beautiful area of Rome

Of course, the most beautiful area of Rome, where a tourist who wants to feel the atmosphere of the Eternal City, can stay is Trastevere. It is here that there are dozens of delicious restaurants and beautiful houses entwined with ivy.

Formally, Trastevere is called everything that is on the other side of the Tiber River, but I would advise you to settle in the area drawn on the map below:

Viale di Trastevere, on which tram number 8 runs, conditionally divides the allocated zone into the left, where the Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere (Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere) and the right, where the church of San Francesco a Ripa (San Francesco d 'Assisi a Ripa Grande).

There are a bit more tourists and restaurants on the left, but in many lanes even during the day it is almost deserted.

Friends are often asked to pick them a good apartment in Trastevere in order to stay for a few days and try to feel the spirit of the real Eternal City. There are a lot of accommodation options on both Bucking and Airbnb - I recommend using only these services to search for housing in Italy.

The cost of renting a good apartment in the Trastevere district starts from 60-80 euros per day for two. There are more luxurious options for any wallet. If you liked some place of residence in Trastevere, but you doubt it, do not hesitate to ask questions in the comments. Together we will find the perfect option for you

In the review I will give those apartments where, if I had not lived in Rome permanently, I would have stayed myself.

Terrace and view of the Vatican

Located near the Church of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, this apartment features a private terrace and views of the Vatican.

Here is another beautiful option - apartments with a terrace for three guests next to Piazza di San Cosimato for only 80 euros. On the square in the morning passes the farmer's market. In the apartment itself, wooden furniture and beams are very atmospheric. From the terrace you can even see the Altar of the Fatherland in Venice Square (piazza Venezia), but I am more impressed by the view on the roofs of Trastevere houses.

Luxurious loft with pool

I admit, I myself did not know that there are apartments with pools in Trastevere. Staying in a well-renovated loft designed for two people, you get access to the pool along with the guests of the house, which are not many.

The cost of the apartment is about 140 euros / day, including all fees. From May to October, when the temperature rarely drops below +25, the pool is a huge plus in Rome. In the same residence there is an even more luxurious option for about 300 euros, but able to accommodate up to 4 guests, as well as an apartment for two for 150 euros per day. The latter option can also be booked through booking.

For a company up to 7 people

Luxury apartments that can accommodate a group of friends or family up to 7 people are located next to the Piazza Trilussa. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, 5 beds, 2 bathrooms - it is almost impossible to find something similar in capacity in the area and with such a cool location.

I see here the perfect vacation for two pairs of friends. Conversations in the evenings heart to heart on the balcony under a glass of wine overlooking old Rome. Dream!

Apartments for two will cost about 230 euros per day, and for seven only 350 euros.

Crossing the Ponte Sisto Bridge, you can take a peaceful step in the Campo dei Fiori, Pantheon and Piazza Navona squares in 10-15 minutes.

In the Middle Ages Merchants Tower

The company can accommodate up to six people in a medieval tower, where once local entrepreneurs lived. This is my favorite part of Trastevere, calm and beautiful - a real Rome for me.

Depending on the number of guests, this apartment will cost from 150 to 250 euros per day.

In the house with ivy

In the Booking.com special section on apartments, I found a very beautiful apartment in an ivy-covered house. Three nights in this apartment will cost only 296 euros per day for two or 356 euros for a family or company up to 4 people.

The location is very good, to the church and the central square of Santa Maria in Trastevere literally one minute on foot.

Guide for independent tourists

On the map below I put all the restaurants, bars, gelatories, supermarkets, attractions, as well as apartments that we considered in the article.

Use the tips, settle in the most beautiful area of Rome and fall in love with the Eternal City. If you need advice, welcome to comment.

Men's Clothing in Ancient Rome

It's time to get dressed. What do the Romans wear? We are used to seeing them in films and performances wrapped in multi-colored togas that look like long sheets. But is this always the case? In fact, at first glance, these robes are completely uncomfortable and constrain movement, making it difficult to run, climb stairs or even sit down without clinging to anything.
